It succeeded the  Bedford CA van and was seen as a competitor to rival Ford’s Transit van. It was the last vehicle to be designed solely by Vauxhall and was one of the most popular light commercials of the day due its versatility, which included it being a template for a caravanette, notably the Bedford Dormobile. With longitudinal front engine and rear wheel drive and transmission of 2\/4\/5 manual to a 3-speed General Moors automatic, the CF Van was given a facelift in 1980, which introduced a 2.3L diesel engine as an alternative to the petrol engine.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOur very useful CF Van makes its latest entrance in a 1980s Gas livery, this time as used by the utility company’s Eastern branch. With a white body and royal blue roof and white bonnet, the model has been masked along the sides and rear with royal blue, light blue and aquamarine stripes.
